The awakening of the party island
After its deep winter sleep, Ibiza –otherwise known as the “metropolis of clubbing”- is waking up, ready for another rocking summer season! Top DJs arrive from every corner of the world to set the pace on the party island, carrying in their luggage the hottest playing lists to feature in the spectacular openings of the season.
One after the other, beautiful yachts start crowding the marinas around the Island, waiting for their celebrity guests to fly in and join the parties. Tickets for the majority of them are already sold out but that of course is never a problem for the international VIP community. By mid-May, famous clubs like Pacha and Amnesia in Ibiza Town will be open waiting along with the rest in San Antonio, Santa Eulalia etc. for the International Music Summit (IMS) that takes place at the end of May near Playa den Bossa. We are talking about a real clubbing frenzy that will last until early October, doubling every year its success. This summer again, millions of people will spread around renowned dance floors for an incomparable experience that involves amazing music and tons of fun!
The 2019 summer season has finally arrived!
However this in not the only attraction making Ibiza a must destination at this time of the year; affected by its vicinity with the east coast of Spain and the northern one of Africa, this one of a kind Island is blessed with a mild Mediterranean climate that helps day temperature rise well above 20ºC, often reaching this of a typical summer day.
On the party island, the evenings are rather cool so you will most probably need clothes to warm you up, especially if you intend to stay outdoors at night in order to dine on one of the finest restaurant terraces with breathtaking views. Sunshine hours get longer –almost 10 per day- and the sea temperature rises; so don’t forget to pack your fancy swimwear as Ibiza’s amazing golden beaches with crystal turquoise waters are a great temptation. Besides swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving or jet skiing there are other activities that will make your stay a most memorable one: cliff jumping at Cala Tarida, sailing around deserted bays, hiking to the top of Sa Talaia or just hanging around the picturesque port of San Antonio to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets on earth…
